This is a working supervisory position, requiring someone who is equally comfortable managing and supporting the team while personally carrying out maintenance, gardening, snow clearing and general property upkeep.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, practical, reliable and flexible, with a strong sense of responsibility and pride in maintaining a private estate to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise daily workloads, prioritise tasks and ensure that all areas of the estate are properly maintained.
  • Lead by example, actively participating in day-to-day duties alongside the team.
  • Liaise with household management and report maintenance requirements, issues and progress as necessary.

Property Maintenance

  • Personally carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs and general upkeep of the estate, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Monitor the condition of the property, facilities, equipment and tools, identifying and addressing maintenance issues promptly.
  • Coordinate external contractors and specialist services when required, overseeing their work and ensuring that standards are maintained.
  • Supervise the maintenance and general upkeep of the estate’s vehicles, coordinating servicing, inspections, repairs and appointments as required.

Gardens & Outdoor Areas

  • Oversee and actively undertake the cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of gardens, terraces, pathways and outdoor areas.
  • Carry out seasonal gardening duties and ensure that the grounds are maintained to an excellent standard throughout the year.
  • Undertake snow clearing during the winter months, ensuring that entrances, pathways, driveways and access areas remain safe and accessible.

Seasonal & General Duties

  • Assist with the opening and closing of the estate and prepare the property and grounds for the family’s arrival.
  • Ensure that the estate is always presented, maintained and organised to the highest standards.
  • Provide practical assistance to the household team whenever required.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in property maintenance, groundskeeping, facilities maintenance or a similar role, ideally within a luxury private household or estate.
  • Previous experience supervising or coordinating a small team, with the ability to lead by example.
  • A genuinely hands-on approach, with the ability and willingness to carry out maintenance and outdoor duties personally.
  • Fluent in Italian and English, with a good working knowledge of German.
  • Practical and technically minded, with experience in general maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and experience coordinating vehicle servicing and repairs would be an advantage.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including during the winter season.
  • Flexible and available to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, according to the family’s needs and the estate’s operational requirements
  • Proactive, organised and able to work independently.
  • Discreet, trustworthy and attentive to detail.
  • A genuine love of animals and comfortable working in a household with pets.
  • A valid driving licence is mandatory.

Personal Profile
